The Dead Sea Scroll of Isaiah 7:14 contains the same word, ALMAH, as is found in the Masoretic Text... that same word which is translated as "virgin" in the authorized version of the English Bible.

The raging ( and inane) controversy over whether or not the word "ALMAH" actually refers to "a chaste young woman who has not exercised the organs of pro-creation... " hides the issue .... and is indeed the FUNCTION of this very prophecy!
In truth, the Apostle Matthew settled the inane controversy over virgin quite sufficiently as he explained:
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by The LORD through the prophet, saying:
"Behold, the Virgin shall be with CHILD+, and shall bring forth a SON+, and they shall call HIS+ Name IMMANUEL, which, being interpreted [for Greek readers who would not know Hebrew or Aramaic] is GOD with us. "
If the Apostle's explanation of the virgin of Isaiah 7:14 is not sufficient, then let us take heed to the context.
Verse 18 of Matthew 1:
Now the birth of YESHUA+ HA MASHIYACH+ was on this wise: When as HIS+ mother Mariam was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with CHILD+ of the HOLY SPIRIT.
So we know that the Hebrew Virgin Mariam was STILL a virgin and had no physical relations with Joseph, her espoused gowra.
Verse 20:
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mariam thy wife: for THAT+ which is conceived in her is of the HOLY SPIRIT.
From verses 24 and 25:
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the LORD had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn SON+: and he called HIS+ name YESHUA+.
Luke, the beloved physician who was a companion of the Apostle Paul, confirms this state of affairs with his record of Mariam's reaction to the Angel's announcement to her about YESHUA+ being conceived in her womb.
Luke records (1:30-35) :
And the Angel said unto her, Fear not, Mariam: for thou hast found favour with ALAHA (GOD). And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a SON+, and shalt call HIS+ name YESHUA+. HE+ shall be great, and shall be called the SON+ of the HIGHEST: and the LORD GOD shall give unto HIM+ the throne of HIS+ father David: And HE+ shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of HIS+ Kingdom there shall be no end.
Then said Mariam unto the Angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
And the Angel answered and said unto her, The HOLY SPIRIT shall come upon thee, and the power of the HIGHEST shall overshadow thee: therefore also that HOLY ONE+ which shall be born of thee shall be called the SON+ of ALAHA (GOD).
Thus, the VIRGIN controversy is settled by the words recorded by Matthew and Luke.
Interestingly enough, we see quite a variety of words associated with virgin in this verse.

The 1877 Hebrew New Testament by Franz Delitzsch, says "ALMAH" in Matthew 1:23:

The Clementine Vulgate says "VIRGO" for Matthew 1:23

The Aramaic Peshitta from the BFBS says "BETULTAH" for Matthew 1:23
ܕ݁ܗܳܐ ܒ݁ܬ݂ܽܘܠܬ݁ܳܐ ܬ݁ܶܒ݂ܛܰܢ ܘܬ݂ܺܐܠܰܕ݂ ܒ݁ܪܳܐ ܘܢܶܩܪܽܘܢ ܫܡܶܗ

And the Drs., Etheridge, Murdock, and (perhaps a "Ph.D" ? ) Lamsa say in their English translations of the Aramaic New Covenant virgin , to wit:
Matthew 1:23 - Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth the son, and they shall call his name Amanuel; which is interpreted, With us (is) our Aloha. ~ Dr. John Etheridge

Matthew 1:23 - Behold, a virgin will conceive, and will bear a son, and thou shalt call his name Emmanuel, which is interpreted, Our God with us. ~ Dr. James Murdock

Regardless of WHICH word is used concerning a young unmarried female, it was assumed in the Hebrew culture of that era ( unlike the American and Western cultures of today, sadly enough) that young women who had reached the physical maturity required to pro-create the human race... were also chaste enough to have "tokens" of their virginity on their wedding night.
