MICAH 5:2 Complete Jewish Bible

Micah 5:1... Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

But you, Beit-Lechem near Efrat,so small among the clans of Y’hudah, out of you will come forth to me the future ruler of Isra’el,whose origins are far in the past, back in ancient times.

Neither is there SALVATION in any other; for there is NO OTHER NAME+ under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12

That at the NAME of YESHUA+ every knee shall bow, of beings in Heaven, beings in earth, and beings under the earth; and that every tongue should proclaim that YESHUA+ MASHIYACH+ is LORD, to the Glory of ALAHA, His+ FATHER.
Philippians 2:10-11

The Hidden ALMAH in ISAIAH'S Prophecy

Isaiah 7:14

The Dead Sea Scroll of Isaiah 7:14 contains the same word, ALMAH, as is found in the Masoretic Text... that same word which is translated as "virgin" in the authorized version of the English Bible.

The ALMAH of Isaiah's ALAHA ... The Hidden ONE+ from Eternity

How Did Ignatius, the ancient Bishop of Antioch,

View This ALMAH...

who was the Hebrew Virgin Mariam ?

The Hebrew Virgin Mariam, carrying the Un-begotten SON+ of The FATHER in her un-opened womb was purposely robed in obscurity, hidden under the Hand of The LORD, sheltered from the eyes of the hardened of heart, as well as hidden from the wicked one who was ready to devour the Man-Child+ as soon as HE+ was born.

The Early Christian writer, martyr, and Bishop of Antioch, Ignatius, explained this hiding as a MYSTERY of GOD in the Syriac version of the Letter to the Ephesians.

Epistle of Ignatius to the Ephesians,
Ante-Nicene Fathers, Volume 1, page 57 , Chapter 19

"Now the virginity of Mary was hidden from the prince of this world, as was also her OFFSPRING+, and the death of The LORD: three mysteries of renown, which were wrought in silence, but have been revealed to us."

It is of good note that the shorter Greek version has the same details of the HIDDEN nature of this miraculous event.

Which brings us to the conclusion that EVERY WORD of Scripture is inspired of GOD ( ALAHA ) .... and ought not to be tampered with, as some have done.

There are excellent reasons why Our LORD chose to express Scriptural truths by using CERTAIN words: it is for the exact expression of HIMSELF, HIS Character, and His Truth.

In this case, ALMAH , which stems from OLAM, carries with it the essential meaning of "hidden."

That clue is crucial to the understanding of WHO+  YESHUA+ HaMASHIYACH+ is, how HE+ was born, and why HE+ was crucified.

Neither the crucial details of His+ birth nor the victorious consequences of His+ death were revealed to the satanic forces around HIM+.

For, if they would have known the VICTORY over death, hell, and the grave coming... they would NOT have crucified The LORD of Glory !

His+ death wrought the death-blow to the the power of satan over mankind ... for those whosoever will come to YESHUA+.

Furthermore, In HIS+ Name, we too are enabled to defeat satan's purposes by our deaths. That VICTORY by the sons of Adam, granted by the victory of the Second ADAM+, was also hidden from the eyes of satan.

This is "why"  the Hebrew virgin had to be an ALMAH , and not any other word for "virgin."  Neither the Greek nor the Latin reveal this crucial aspect to the coming of Our LORD in the virgin birth.

HE Who was the fount of all languages, knew EXACTLY in which words to reveal HIMSELF to mankind.

Why should we attempt to change that ?

Let us take heed to ourselves to handle the Word of GOD in purity, without deceit.

For edification here is the account of the trial of Ignatius, courtesy of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, Archdiocese of the Western USA, listed under "I" , under the "Saints Lives" tab.

St. Ignatius is condemned by Trajan.

For Trajan, in the ninth year of his reign, being lifted up with pride, after the victory he had gained over the Scythians and Dacians, and many other nations, and thinking that the religious body of the Christians were yet wanting to complete the subjugation of all things to himself, and thereupon threatening them with persecution unless they should agree to worship demons, as did all other nations, thus compelled all who were living godly lives either to sacrifice to idols or die. Wherefore the noble soldier of Christ Ignatius, being in fear for the Church of the Antiochians, was, in accordance with his own desire, brought before Trajan, who was at that time staying at Antioch, but was in haste to set forth against Armenia and the Parthians. And when he was set before the emperor Trajan, said unto him:

"Who are you, (unlucky) wicked wretch, who set yourself to transgress our commands, and persuade others to do the same, so that they should miserably perish?"

St. Ignatius replied: "No one ought to call Theophorus (one who carries God) wicked wretch; for all evil spirits and demons you worship have departed from the servants of God. But if, because I am an enemy to these spirits, you call me wicked in respect to them, I quite agree with you; for inasmuch as I have Christ the King of heaven within me, I destroy all the devices of these evil spirits."

Trajan answered, "And who is Theophorus?"

St. Ignatius replied, "He who has Christ within his breast."

Trajan said, "Do we not then seem to you to have the gods in our mind, whose assistance we enjoy in fighting against our enemies?"

St. Ignatius answered, "You are in error when you call the demons of the nations, gods. For there is but one God, who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that are in them; and one Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, in whom I hope may be saved by His love."

Trajan said, "Do you mean Him who was crucified under Pontius Pilate?"

St. Ignatius replied, "I mean Him who crucified the sin, with its inventor, and who has condemned all the deceit and malice of the devil under the feet of those who carry Him in their heart."

Trajan said, "Do you then carry within you Him that Christ (was crucified)?"

St. Ignatius replied, "Truly so; for it is written, I will dwell in them, and walk in them" (2 Cor. 6: 16.).

Then Trajan pronounced sentence as follows: "We command that Ignatius, who affirms that he carries about within him, Him that was crucified, be bound by soldiers, and carried to the great [city] Rome, there to be devoured by the beasts, for the gratification of the Romans (people of Rome)."

When the holy martyr heard this sentence, he cried out with joy, "I thank You, O Lord, that You have vouchsafed to honor me with a perfect love towards You, and have made me to be bound with iron chains, like Your Apostle Paul." Having spoken thus, he then, with delight, clasped the chains about him; and when he had first prayed for the Church, and commended it with tears to the Lord, he was hurried away by the savage cruelty of the soldiers, like his Lord as distinguished ram the leader of a goodly flock, that he might be carried to Rome, there to furnish food to the bloodthirsty beasts.

BeTHuL(T)aH ... or... ALMAH ?

Isaiah 7

10 Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying, 11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. 12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.  13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God  also?

14 Therefore the Lord Himself
shall give you a SIGN;
 Behold,
a virgin
[  ALMAH, Hebrew,]
[BETHULTAH, Aramaic ]
shall conceive,
and bear a SON+,
and shall call HIS Name
IMMANUEL +.

15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

btwlh noun sg. emphatic
btwlh, btwltˀ (bt̠ūlā, bt̠ūltā) n.f. virgin Mand: ptulta

1 virgin Com. --(a) woman who has not given birth JBA.
  2 (astron.) Virgo Qum, Syr.

__________________________________________________

We see above that CAL lists "bethula or bethulta" as VIRGIN, as found referenced in the dialects of Common Aramaic and Jewish Babylonian Aramaic, and additionally as VIRGO ( the Latin "virgin" ) in the Qumran scrolls as well as the Syriac.

The witness of Scripture tells us that "this ALMAH" written by Isaiah in 7:14,   the Hebrew virgin Mariam, was chaste... that is, she had not yet exercised the organs of pro-creation of the human race ... as she became with Child+.

We know this is true due to:

  • the words of Gabriel
  • Mariam's own questions
  • by Joseph, her Gowra-guardian, her betrothed husband's reaction
  • by ALAHA speaking to Joseph in a dream, with instructions and ALAHA'S defense of Mariam's chastity and fidelity
  • by Joseph's obedience to the Voice of The LORD
Thus, the focus of our discussion today is NOT upon Mariam's chastity which has already been established in the HOLY TEXTS, but rather why did Isaiah's Anointing state that she was an ALMAH... and not a Bethulah or Bethultah ?

The significance of this "bethultah" being identified as an ALMAH is revealed by the root of the word ALMAH... a word inspired by ALAHA, recorded under Divine Inspiration by Isaiah.

ALMAH's root is from the Hebrew word "OLAM." That word has reference to the hidden Eternal place or era... that which is to come... that which is hidden from our view. Thus it most often is translated as "eternity."

Now then, does this understanding of ALMAH fit the context ?

YES!   Looking at Isaiah 7:11, we see The LORD instructing the king of Judah, King Ahaz, to do something:

Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

King Ahaz refused to co-operate, but The LORD took care of that problem.  HE hid the SIGN+ ...which was intended to be of comfort to King Ahaz ...from his view !

> > >  The SIGN+ was hidden due to his un-belief. <  <  <

Here, in the setting we find for Isaiah 7:14, were grown men, yea, even a king of JUDAH, with whom no-one could do anything. King Ahaz was, unfortunately, un-interested in what  The LORD had to say and totally un-yielded unto HIS ways .... loudly and visibly un-yielded !

The SIGN+, we see, was that The LORD would show these leaders exactly whom HE would choose: a little, hidden-away Galilean girl, chaste and pure in her maidenhood yet to be sure, but  whose ONLY IDENTITY in life was that she was The LORD'S servant, HIS hand-maiden.

This little hand-maiden, non-important in the eyes of man and the leaders of Judah, was important in the eyes of The LORD.

HE could call to her... and she answered !

HE could speak to her... and she obeyed !

HE could use her to bring forth HIS own humble SON+ ... and she would house HIM+ in her UN-OPENED WOMB and robe HIM+ with her humble flesh.

Was she "immaculate?"
NO.

But she was obedient
and that obedience stemmed from
a heart of humbleness.

As a matter of fact, her ONLY identity is summed up as an obedient heart to do HIS Divine Will.

Even King Ahaz, the king of Judah, could not match that obedience.

Furthermore, this ALMAH of GOD's choosing, The Hebrew virgin Mariam, remained hidden throughout her days.  She fled to her cousin Elizabeth's house to rejoice in her calling.

Her guardian-gowra, yes, her espoused husband Joseph whom she had not "known" yet as a husband,  hid her in a cave used as a stable in over-crowded Bethlehem at the time of her delivery of the LAMB+ of GOD, the Immanuel+, the WORD+ Made Flesh Who+ dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.

By hiding her, the Royal BIRTH+ was hidden from all the hierarchy of Jerusalem and revealed to the lowly, humble shepherds keeping watch over their flocks by night.  Even the inn-keeper's eyes were hidden from the event !

The dragon with its 7 heads and 10 crowned-horns of Revelation 12 was not even aware  of the specifics of this Royal BIRTH+.

We know this is true because the dragon missed devouring the Man-CHILD+ that was born of the ALMAH, the Hebrew Bethultah , the HIDDEN VIRGIN of Israel...  even though he stood before her as she was about to give birth!

BUT.... SIGNS are not meant to be hidden from EVERYONE... just from the hardened of heart.

So... to whom was the Arm of The LORD revealed  in this event of the BETHULTAH / ALMAH's virgin conception and subsequent virgin birth of Our LORD YESHUA+ HA MASHIYACH+

To quite a few, as listed in Scripture:

  1. Firstly, to the Prophet Isaiah !
  2. then, to the lowly Galilean maiden, Mariam
  3. her Gowra-espoused husband, Joseph
  4. her cousin Elizabeth
  5. to Elizabeth's child, John the Baptist, leaping in the womb !
  6. to the Magi enroute to give worship, following the Star
  7. to the Angels announcing HIS+ Birth, filling the sky with their worship and praise and song
  8. to the shepherds keeping watch over their flocks by night who received the Angelic host
  9. to all those the shepherds told as they hastened into Bethlehem that night
  10. to the Righteous and Devout man, Simeon, who was awaiting the Consolation+ of Israel
  11. To the Prophetess Anna
  12. To those who knew that Joseph, Mariam, and the Divine BABE+ had fled into Egypt to escape Herod's killing of the Innocents

( To be continued: How the Early Church Fathers viewed this Momentous  Hidden Event ).
