We DO AGREE on the LAW in at least one respect:
We love the LAW of GOD, The ELOHIM, as found in
the TORAH , and I think you must love the LAW also. Correct ?
Because I love HIS LAW, I rejoice when someone will
not seethe a baby animal in its mother’s milk, as in:
The first of the first-fruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk. Exodus 23:19
Living in the countryside, we see people who raise chickens, scramble
their hens’ excess eggs . . . and feed
them BACK to the hens that laid the eggs, which if allowed to hatch, would be
baby chicks. [ This practice is ABHORRENT
to us. ]
We see, for instance, the LOVING CHARACTER of GOD,
The ELOHIM, in ALL HIS RIGHTEOUS LAWS, towards both animals and beasts, as in
this verse:
Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee. Leviticus 19:19
The
“hybrid” seeds are a disaster for planet earth; our apple varieties, for
instance, are a tenth of the kinds of apples which USED to be available to the
children of men.
We know they cross-breed various animals and NOW
the wicked are trying to do that between animals and humans ! That is what the abortion mills selling
babies’ parts are all about.
Yes, dear friend, we are FULLY AGREED that the LAW
of GOD, The ELOHIM , is RIGHTEOUS and GOOD and we LOVE IT.
Our differences with the Hebrew Roots camp come from HOW we observe the LAW versus HOW the HR Camp does it.
For instance, scrambling the hens’ excess eggs and
feeding it BACK to the chickens to eat as “chicken feed” is repulsive to anyone filled with the HOLY
SPIRIT . . . whether that person has the
FIRST Covenant and TORAH in his hands or not.
Many tribal peoples or poor, under-developed
communities have only the NEW Covenant in their language, yet they Follow
JESUS, even without the FIRST Covenant.
Why would feeding chickens scrambled eggs be
abhorrent to a Follower of JESUS who
does not have or know the LAW ?
It is because the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, The ELOHIM,
is ALIVE and Living in the heart, soul, mind, and being of a true Follower of
JESUS CHRIST, Y’SHUA+ ha MOSHIACH+
.
That wonder-filled HOLY SPIRIT reacts intensely when a TORAH LAW is breached. . . . whether the Follower of JESUS knows TORAH, the LAW, or not.
It is TRUE that The LORD JESUS CHRIST, Y’SHUA+ ha
MOSHIACH+, comes to abide in a Baptized Believer.
( That is, a person who has repented, been converted to follow CHRIST and forsake all of Self, who has become a New Creature in the soul-cleansing waters of Holy Baptism, and intends to lead a new life, filled with His+ SPIRIT. )
That is WHY Followers of CHRIST are not concerned
about “keeping” the Letter of The LAW.
They are concerned with staying CLOSE TO JESUS, Y’SHUA+. HIS+ HOLY SPIRIT reacts when the RIGHTEOUS LAW is breached . . . whether the FIRST COVENANT is read or even available.
In our interaction with them, we have found that
the Hebrew Roots people are divided into two basic groups. One group LOVES the
LAW, thinks it is the RIGHT THING TO DO,
and works diligently at keeping it, finding more and more ways to keep
it as they go along. They are focused upon it and it consumes their being; they
are never free of it.
The other group LOVES the LAW , thinks it is the
RIGHT THING TO DO, but eventually becomes so burdened down with more and more
“keepings” that they burn out and eventually discard it all, including CHRIST
the LORD.
In the end, neither group of Hebrew Root people
reaches the goal of RIGHTEOUSNESS , which is what they are aiming for with
great diligence.
The first group eventually moves from a Loving,
Living, Faith-filled, Obedient
COMPANIONSHIP with The LORD CHRIST JESUS to a consuming interest in
following The LAW instead of The PERSON of CHRIST. Staying in COMPANIONSHIP
with CHRIST fades out as they focus on keeping more and more mitzvot.
They, as the Apostle Paul warns, have indeed
“fallen from Grace.”
The sad part is that they do not even see this dangerous spiritual state they have entered. In short, by their zeal for keeping The LAW, they have ignored the HOLY SPIRIT’S corrections and promptings. So their last state is worse than their first.
The second group encounters serious issues with
faith. Some have close to nervous break-downs the longer they stay within the
confines of a system of Laws. Being
honest, they have recognized that they cannot keep the LAW.
They cannot keep it BECAUSE there is NO ANOINTING any longer upon it to help them do it.
They cannot keep the LAW by their fleshly efforts,
so these who started out to serve GOD, become distraught that GOD, The ELOHIM,
does not accept them any longer. . . as
they think the LAW teaches.
But you see, the HOLY SPIRIT is no longer WITH the
keepers of The LAW . . . because there is a BETTER Way to holiness as the Book of
Hebrews tells us.
The great danger of this second group is that they will throw away everything when they throw away the keeping of the LAW. They will throw away CHRIST JESUS and the Joy they had IN HIM+ at the time they entered into the Covenant of Salvation.
When they throw away The LORD JESUS, then darkness
enters in and threatens to engulf them.
We have seen both happen to Hebrew Roots people.
That is why we warn them to come out of that Camp.
People who are hungry for The LORD are drawn into
things like the Hebrew Roots philosophy because of the discipline.
Those in the normal, modern, Christian Camp have discarded all semblance of spiritual discipline. The people no longer keep Morning Prayer, Noon-time prayer, Evening prayer. They do NOT stop their day nor start their day with any kind of quietness, feasting on The LORD.
They no longer practice a spiritual discipline in
matters of dress, food, friends, entertainments and sports --- not to mention
reading material, movies, and music. They go places and “enjoy” things which
are NOT Christian nor for the spiritual edification of their soul.
The normal, modern Christian is full of
self-indulgence and that dulls the flow of the HOLY SPIRIT into his life.
This Self-indulgence tells us that the HOLY SPIRIT
is ignored and not listened to.
That is why SO MANY are moving out of the modern
Christian camp and choosing a more disciplined life-style that the Hebrew Roots
camp offers.
It works for awhile and it makes them feel more
“secure” in GOD, more like they are pleasing HIM.
But the dangers exist.
We urge all to choose CHRIST-CENTERED SPIRITUAL
DISCIPLINE and a submission of one’s Self-Indulgence to the WORD of GOD.
The
more one OBEYS the promptings of the HOLY SPIRIT ( as found in the WORD of GOD
) , the closer to CHRIST JESUS one will be drawn.
There is no reason why we cannot choose a spiritual discipline that denies Self when we Follow CHRIST. We do NOT have to have a group or church to lay down laws for us to follow if we are walking close to The LORD JESUS.
So . . . the whole issue is to have a CLOSER WALK
WITH CHRIST and the LAW will be kept.
The HOLY SPIRIT is Who guides us into all . . . yes, ALL . . . Righteousness.
This , I believe, dear friend, is the crux of the difference between the Hebrew Roots people and us.
May The LORD bless you and draw you ever closer to Himself+ in a Living, Loving, Faith-filled, Joyously-obedient COMPANIONSHIP with HIM+ . . . the KING+ of kings and the LORD+ of lords.
