MICAH 5:2 Complete Jewish Bible

Micah 5:1... Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

But you, Beit-Lechem near Efrat,so small among the clans of Y’hudah, out of you will come forth to me the future ruler of Isra’el,whose origins are far in the past, back in ancient times.

Neither is there SALVATION in any other; for there is NO OTHER NAME+ under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12

That at the NAME of YESHUA+ every knee shall bow, of beings in Heaven, beings in earth, and beings under the earth; and that every tongue should proclaim that YESHUA+ MASHIYACH+ is LORD, to the Glory of ALAHA, His+ FATHER.
Philippians 2:10-11

Paraqleeta = HOLY SPIRIT... in Any CHRISTIAN Bible ...

in ANY language,
if written by an HONEST
and SCHOLARLY translator...
intent upon
Y'SHUA+ HA MASHIYACH+

PARACLETE, PaRaQLeeTA, Paraqlita, or Paraqleyta.... each and every one of these words , in any language, equals ....

The HOLY SPIRIT,
the 3rd Person of  The ELOHIM,
the RUACH ha KODESH
in Hebrew and Aramaic ,
The SPIRIT of ELOHIM,
Who moved upon the face of the waters
in the beginning,
Genesis 1:2.

Paraqleeta, in Aramaic, is NOT (as stated in the English-from-Aramaic "golden translation") the REDEEMER+ nor DELIVERER+.

Both of  those titles and functions are the SOLE properties of Y'SHUA+ HA MASHIYACH+, according to our top authority, ... Scripture itself !

[See previous blog for the summary of those 240-plus verses in the New Covenant which describe the working of the HOLY SPIRIT. ]

It seems inconceivable that "translators" in ANY language would set themselves against 240-plus verses in order to render Paraqleeta as something other than HOLY SPIRIT ...
... but that is what is being done in the modern English versions of the Peshitta/ Peshitto.   The perpetuation of this error in translation for the 4 verses in John's account is INACCURATE in both language and historical records.

Furthermore, it is also INACCURATE and INCONGRUENT within these versions' own translations!
Let the reader not take MY word; let's simply take a look at what is written, especially in the "Golden Translation" of the Aramaic English New Covenant:

In 1 John 2:1 ,  that English from Aramaic translation states:

"My children, these things I write to you that you do not sin. But if any one should sin, we have an ADVOCATE with The FATHER, Y'SHUA+ The MASHIYACH+, The Righteous. "

What is wrong with that verse ?
?
?
NOTHING !

The problem is that
ADVOCATE
is the exact, same, identical, Aramaic word ....

PARAQLEETA....

that was purposely mis-translated as "REDEEMER"+ in the four verses in John...  each of those 4 verses referring to the HOLY SPIRIT in context .

So, why  didn't the editor of the "Golden Translation" BE CONSISTENT and translate this verse to read, as he did the 4 verses in John, " ... we have a "REDEEMER+" with The FATHER, JESUS CHRIST The RIGHTEOUS " ?

This is the reason:

The editor KNOWS
that
PARAQLEETA means HOLY SPIRIT
... in every language...
and not "redeemer+"
... and perhaps he didn't wish
to go against the entire body
of scholars in this
well-beloved and well-known verse.
( Now, I'm only taking a guess at his reason! )

EVERY TRANSLATOR KNOWS that the PARAQLEETA or PARACLETE is the 3rd person of The ELOHIM, The "one called alongside" who  greatly strengthens the Believer in Y'SHUA+, Who+ is the REDEEMER+ of mankind, due to the shedding of His+ Blood... a sacrifice for our sins.

That is the function in all its variety of the HOLY SPIRIT... to help, to advocate, to make intercessions with groanings that cannot be uttered. The Paraqleeta NEVER sheds His blood... because He has none! The Paraqleeta is UN-ABLE to redeem mankind.

LANGUAGE PROBLEMS ?
...mind problems ?
...or  heart problems ?

Yes, there are some SERIOUS problems with this "golden translation." Paraqleeta is a Greek loanword [Paraclete = HOLY SPIRIT ], taken into the Aramaic language and text of the Peshitta from the beginning.

WHEN YOU SEARCH THE INTERNET regarding this issue, you will find this information FROM SPEAKERS OF ARAMAIC, not just Greek scholars. [Try it ! ]

The editor explains his erroneous translation of Paraqleeta by quoting another translator , Paul Younan, who  separated this Greek loanword into two Aramaic parts (now that's quite a linguistic trick !) which, when put back together, means in Aramaic (but not in Greek )  "someone who ends the curse."  From there, the meaning of Paraqleeta is extrapolated to mean someone who delivers or redeems us.

Now, curiously, read Mr. Younan's  exact words in the Editor's  footnote # 143 , John14:16 :

" PRQLTA has been confused with the Greek "Paraclitus", meaning ADVOCATE. The Aramaic .... PRQLTA means "REDEEMER"  or "ONE WHO ENDS THE CURSE."  By the indwelling of the Ruach haKodesh, our sinful predisposition is redeemed from the curse of Adam . (PY) "

[Uh-oh... better check Paraqleeta 1 John 2:1 in ALL the modern English-Aramaic versions... including this "golden translation"..., Mr. Younan and Mr. "Golden" Editor, himself! ]

Paul Younan (or whomever he copied) says that Paraqleeta is derived from 2 Aramaic roots: PRQ , which means to end, finish, or save, and LTA, which means the curse.

If you check Mr. Younan's own personal, non-authorized translation, you will see that he  either agreed to or developed this revelation of the NEW ETYMOLOGY of Paraqleeta in or around the year 1999 or 2000 .  Not exactly a truth from the ancient church ... and , certainly not a truth from the Orthodox Syrian Church , Church of the East, nor the various Aramaic Christian bodies.

This translation has not been edited nor verified by anyone other than the author (who does not have official sanction for this work) and is likely to have numerous errors.

[Reader: Keep in mind I have no quarrel with Mr. Younan, who so graciously allows ANYONE to use his work. I respect  most of his work AND CERTAINLY,  HIS HONEST DISCLAIMER. My stand is against the "Golden Translation" of the English translation of the Aramaic, which distorts and mis-translates these 4 verses in John and  many more.  SJH  + + +]

This "strange" labeling of the Aramaic Paraqleeta as "redeemer+"  is NOT found   in these top-of-the-line scholarly and classic references:(... dear reader, you can verify all this info online for yourself )
  •  J. Payne Smith, A Compedious Syriac Dictionary
  • William Jennings, Lexicon to the Syriac New Testament
  • Dukhrana Peshitta Tools, online
  • Ernest Klein, Hebrew Etymology & Comprehensive Dictionary for Readers of English ( a secular but thorough and scholarly volume which includes Aramaic etymology)
  • CAL , Comprehensive Aramaic Lexicon, (online),  Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Most of the above references indicate or state Paraqleeta is a Greek loanword or they leave the etymology BLANK. They do state that it means advocate, counselor, or comforter. These classic old AND new references give NO SUCH ETYMOLOGY OR ROOT DEVELOPMENT as stated by Mr. Younan or Mr. Editor.

The 3 older Aramaic translators, Dr. Lamsa, Dr. Murdock, and Dr. Etheridge, translate Paraqleeta as Comforter or simply Paraclete.

.
So, from where DID
such an oddity
 ... going against the church
doctrines and teaching
of Paraqleeta
in ANY LANGUAGE
for 2000 years...
arise
... and why ?
